WORDSWORTH WANDER

 

The walk visits several places associated with William Wordsworth; Dove Cottage & Museum, Rydal Mount & St Oswalds Church where Wordsworth’s grave is.  This low level route goes around Grasmere & Rydal Water but offers some magnificent views across the Lakeland hills.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT: Grasmere can be reached by bus from either Windermere or Keswick, bur services vary greatly according to the time of year.

 

TERRAIN: The walk is mainly off road along reasonably good tracks but there are a few steep climbs. It crosses the main road from Windermere to Keswick which can be very busy at times

 

REFRESHMENTS: There are plenty of cafes & pubs in Grasmere and a tea shop & pub can be found near Rydal Mount
